Retravaillée à l'huile, elle isole et donne à voir la violence commise envers les femmes du tableau, sacrifiées par le roi qui brûle alors tous les objets ayant servi à ses plaisirs. Celles-ci sont ici embaumées et transformées en spectres qui apparaissent à la surface de l'image.
Myrrhs is a negative photograph of the painting The Death of Sardanapalus (Eugène Delacroix, oil on canvas, 1827, 392x496cm). Reworked by coating the paper with oil, it isolates and shows the violence committed against the women in the painting, sacrificed by the king who then burns all the objects he used for his pleasures. These women are embalmed and transformed into spectres that appear on the surface of the image.
